Sam J. Champion, 33, St. Joseph, formerly of Kansas City, died Nov. 18, 1990, at the home. He was born in Kansas City and moved to St. Joseph in 1988.
Mr. Champion was a designer-draftsman and owned the Champion Group, Inc. He received an associates's degree from Platt College. He was a member of the Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Joseph. He was a member of the kansas City Caledonian Bagpipe Band.
Survivors include a son, Joshua Champion, and a daughter, Betsy Champion, both of the home; a stepdaughter, Amy Marie Shelton, St. Joseph; and his mother, Elizabeth Bell Champion, Overland Park.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Corinth Cemetary. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
