Russell Leroy Briney, 66 years old, of Kansas City passed away December 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm at Sar Ko Par Trails Park, Lions Memorial Shelter, 14907 W. 87th Street, Lenexa, KS 66215. His graveside service was be held on Saturday, January 6th at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66210.
Russell was born September 25, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas to Leo and Margaret (Vanderford) Briney who preceded him in death. Russ graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelors degree in 1981 and continued to be a lifelong K-State supporter. Russ thoroughly enjoyed riding motorcycles across the country, working on cars, country concerts, and spending time with his family and friends. Russ was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his rescue dog Shadow. He is survived by his two daughters Abby Briney, Shelby (Michael) Peacock; sister Donna (Roger) Siegrist; girlfriend Amy Hackler and the mother of his children Nancy Briney. He recently became a very proud Papa to his first grandchild Brody Russell Peacock.
