Michael David Elam, 44, formerly of Overland Park, KS, passed away September 2, 2000, in Center Ossioee, NH. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2000, at the Little White Church of Eaton, Eaton, NH, and at a later date, in Raytown, MO, by close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to EN Theos Retreats, P.O. Box 222, West Ossipee, NH 03890. This is the organization founded by Michael and Wiley Beveridge to provide resources for healing the heart, mind, and soul.

Michael is remembered locally as a Manager of the Winds Restaurant in Overland Park, KS, the Colony-Lobster Pot when it was located at the Union Station, and the former Ramada Inn at 87th and alternate 69.

He attended Penn Valley College, Rockhurst College, and UMKC. From here, he continued in hotel and restaurant management in Wichita and Chanute, KS, Dallas and Ft. Worth, TX, and San Diego and Los Angeles, CA. In 1993, his life took a different path. At a retreat in Pecos, NM, where he met Wiley Beveridge, their mutual faith in God and love of music began their life sharing that faith through music and lay group counseling in Boston, Medford and Lynn, MA, then Wolfeboro and the Lake Ossipee areas in New Hampshire.

He is survived by his partner of 7-1/2 years, Wiley Beveridge, a brother, Patrick Elam and a niece.
