Mark Cameron Hass, 17, of 9152 Switzer, Overland Park, died Tuesday at the home. Overland Park police said he apparently hanged himself.
He was born in Springfield, Ill., and lived in this area for six years. Mr. Hass was a senior at Shawnee Mission West High School and a member of the swimming team. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, 5500 W. 91st, Overland Park.
He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Hass, and two brothers, Paul Robert Hass and David Christopher Hass, all of the home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Hass, 12804 E. 39th Terrace, Independence, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard P. Cameron, 6430 Jefferson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church; burial in the Floral Hills Cemetary. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Hoge Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the church.
