A wet highway figured in a two car collision that claimed the life of two Lawrence men Tuesday evening on U.S. 24 highway 2-1/2 miles east of the Tee Pee JUnction. The victims were passengers in a compact car.
Richard Jaimez, 21, 1218 N.Y. was dead at the scene.
Services for Mr. Jaimez will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Moriarty in charge. A parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetary.
Mr. Jaimez was born Oct. 12, 194 in Lawrence. He was a 1973 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended KU. He was an employee of King Radio.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Santos Jaimex, of the home, tow brothers, Louis and Andrew of the home, a sister, Mrs. Patricia Hamm, 702 W. 25th, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Patricio Garcia, 819 N.J., and a paternal grandfather, Ufracia Jaimez, 1305 N.Y.
