Services for Michael D. Legler, 29, 710 Lake, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuael Lutheran Church with Pastor Walter Lutz officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetary.
Mr. Legler drowned Saturday after a canoe accident on a farm pond east of Stull. He was a student at Kansas University and also was a stained glass artisan at Creative Art Glass in Lawrence.
Mr. Legler was born on July 24, 1955, at Ridgecrest, Calif., and had lived in Lawrence since 1963. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jill, of Lawrence; a son, Josiah, Lawrence; his parents, Warren and Phyllis Legler, Lawrence; a sister, Kathy Wright, Baldwin; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Legler Hiawatha, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hane, Topeka.
Friends may call at Warren-McElwain Mortuary until 9 p.m. today and until noon Tuesday. The family will recieve friends 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
