Karen Powell 1955-2020
Memorial services for Karen Boyle, 65, Lawrence, KS will be held at a later date. Karen passed away Monday, October 05, 2020 at LMH Health with her family by her side.
Karen was born on September 3, 1955 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Arvin and Dorothy Powell.
She worked as a fork lift operator for Hallmark Cards for 36 years until she retired. She then got her CNA and worked for Brandon Woods and Pioneer Ridge.
Karen was a hard worker. She loved helping and taking care of all of the residents. As if they were her own family.
She married Rick Boyle on March 29, 1974 in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Patrick) Bishop, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Cash Bishop, Gracy Bishop; two brothers, Roger (Jill) Powell,
Brian (Dorothy) Powell; Rick’s siblings, Ted (Patty) Boyle, Harry (Vickie) Boyle, Terry Boyle, Beverly Boyle, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Karen, loved spending time at the cabin on the lake, planting flowers, paddle boating and laying out in the sun with her friends!
She also loved playing Bingo (loved playing not losing), watching the Chiefs and Jayhawks (win), watching Hallmark movies and just being with her family.
She had the biggest heart and brought so much joy to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed but always remembered for her big heart!
She also loved going to craft shows, festivals with her daughter, Antiquing and garage sales with her husband and spending time with her grandkids. She was the best Mom, Wife, Grandma, Daughter, Sister and Friend! She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
