Donald D. Davis, 62, of Topeka, passed away December 8, 2017. He was born in Dodge City, Kansas on May 12, 1955 to Jerry D. and Dorothy Davis. He was raised in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973. He attended Dodge City Community College.
He married Maggie Davis on July 19, 1986 at Ward Meade Park in Topeka, Kansas. Donald was currently employed by Durham Transportation as a bus driver. Previously, he worked in the financial services industry and auto sales.
In his free time, he loved classic rock & roll music, KU Jayhawk's basketball, playing golf and was a politics junky.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Davis, his biological mother, Dorothy Davis, and step-brother David Bixler.
He is survived by Maggie Davis; sons: Dylan Davis, Jaryl Davis, and Ryan Smith; daughter, Sarah Davis; his adoptive mother, Judy Davis; sister, Jennifer Davis; two brothers: Timothy Davis and Kent Davis; one granddaughter, Jessica Smith; and one grandson, Erick Dean Thomas.
A memorial service will be held on December 20, 2017 at 6:00PM at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 S.W. 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
