Chris Georgeson, 64, of Lawrence, KS passed Monday, April 27, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Chris was born August 17, 1955 in Lawrence, KS; the first son of Bob and Greta (Osthoff) Georgeson. He was a life-long Lawrence resident.
Chris is remembered as an intelligent, witty and generous man who was passionate about politics, sports and reading books. He was a student of history, dispenser of trivia and invested more than fifteen years with the same gaming clan. Chris was always ready to offer his opinion and an eye-roll on just about any topic. He was dearly loved and enjoyed a special relationship with his nieces and nephews and will be profoundly missed.
Survivors include his siblings; Karen Burk (Bob) of Montrose, CO and Curt Georgeson of Lawrence, KS; his nieces and nephews (who knew him as Uncle Tio) Chelsie Riebel (Brad) of Iola, KS, Jon Georgeson of Topeka, KS, Regina Georgeson of Topeka, KS, and Joey Georgeson of Lawrence, KS; and extended family and close friends. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Greta and Bob, and his nephew Michael Georgeson.
There will be a private graveside ceremony with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
The family suggests memorials in his name to Douglas County Community Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
